This kind of reminds me of George Orwell’s novel, 1984. It is kind of creepy, but in the long run is a big positive, especially in the case of an Amber alert or catching other violent offenders. Ben Franklin’s writings, offer us a word of caution, “They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety.” Monitoring license plates is one thing, but we need to be careful how far we go with video surveillance.
