Headley Was Plotting to Throw Journalists Severed Heads From Windows

A U.S. citizen of Pakistani extraction pleaded guilty on Thursday to a dozen federal terrorism charges, including an alleged plot to decapitate Danish journalists and throw their heads out of windows.

According to court documents and a Justice Department press release, among the terrorist activities to which David Coleman Headley admitted were extensive involvement in planning the commando-style November 2008 attacks on hotels and other commercial targets as well as a Jewish revivalist center in Mumbai, and an alleged plot in late 2008 and early 2009 for a suicide attack on the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which has been a target for Islamic extremists ever since it published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.Headley’s plea agreement—which confirms that he is now cooperating with U.S. investigators and “has provided information of significant intelligence value”—offers considerable new detail about both plots and his role in them.
