House Panel Examines EMP, Cyber Terror Threats to Electric Grid

Legislation must allow fast action in case of physical attacks, like an EMP pulse, or cyber attacks against the electric grid, experts say.

  • Why is EMP such a low risk?

The US is developing conventional EMP devices.

Lets face it. If a radical group only has one nuclear device do they take out one city (Manhattan, LA, Dallas, DC, Chicago, etc) or get it up into the air and take out the country?

BTW – this is not “another unfunded event” Prepping for pandemic or natural disaster that also takes out the power grid helps prepare one for an EMP. A culture of preparedness is good. The pioneers where self reliant and I hope we can be.

  • Just a thought, just maybe North Korea is not thinking about nuking the U.S., but of taking out the west coast with an EMP blast. Their missles could do that quite easily, and still cover their asses by not attacking a city or other thing directly. Thus preventing the U.S. from using Nukes in return. Now with the U.S. vulnerable anything can be done. Not to mention how long it will take to rebuild the infrastructure in the west.
