Leaked Memo Reveals ‘Credible’ al Qaeda Threat in Europe

The UK’s Mail Online reports that security officials believe Al Qaeda’s ‘International Operations wing’ is plotting one or more attacks in Europe, including against the UK.

The restricted document reveals the threat is ‘credible’ and would be designed to claim a ‘large number of casualties’.

Possible methods include a suicide or car bomb or the use of ‘firearms against aircraft and airport targets’ – similar to the Mumbai machine-gun attacks of 2008.
