Military Chief Mullen Says Clock Ticking On Iran Nuke

The top U.S. military officer warned on Tuesday that time is running out for dialogue with Tehran to avoid either a nuclear-armed Iran or a possible military strike against the Islamic Republic.

Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, said it is critical for diplomatic efforts to reach a solution before Iran develops a nuclear weapon or faces an Israeli or U.S. strike to turn back its nuclear program.

  • I wish the so-called leders, Republicans and Democrats, could get together on this one and accept the common sense deal: we all support negotiations and diplomacy in an effort to end the threat Iran poses Israel, Europe and US assets, but afgree that, when either the US military or intelligence, or Israeli military or intelligence, conclude that we have no more time for negotiations, that we and the Israelis will take out Natanz, Bushehr and some number of other Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, to be determined by others more knowledgeable than I.
    I hope somebody in a position of authority and influence reads this post.
