New TSA Enhanced Patdown Procedure Draws Questions

The Boston Herald is reporting that TSA screener’s at Logan International Airport are testing what one official called an “enhanced patdown.” The  new pat-down technique lets screener’s use a palms-forward, slide-down search procedure on passengers’ bodies, replacing the old back-of-the-hand patdown for passengers who don’t want to go through full-body scanning machines.

  • The Advanced Pat Down procedure is already in use at the Little Rock National Airport.

    I encountered it on August 6.
