The Boston Herald is reporting that TSA screener’s at Logan International Airport are testing what one official called an “enhanced patdown.” The new pat-down technique lets screener’s use a palms-forward, slide-down search procedure on passengers’ bodies, replacing the old back-of-the-hand patdown for passengers who don’t want to go through full-body scanning machines.
The Advanced Pat Down procedure is already in use at the Little Rock National Airport.
I encountered it on August 6.
