Oliver North Confirms Mullah Omar in Hands of Pakistan’s ISI

Mullah Omar - Taliban Leader Captured?

While there has still been no confirmation by US or Pakistani authorities that Mullah Omar has indeed been captured,  Brad Thor’s exclusive report from earlier this week  has gained additional support from sources that in the past have have  proven to be very reliable.

While we hope the reports are true, there remain many unanswered questions and we’re not willing to let our hopes get too high. (See Adam Gadahn)

From Oliver North

…intelligence sources here in the U.S. and Afghanistan inform me that Pakistani officials know exactly where Mullah Omar is: in the hands of the ISI. This should not be news to the U.S. Secretary of State.

Last month, while I was still in Afghanistan, rumors were circulating that the ISI had detained Mullah Omar in Karachi on March 27, and placed him under house arrest in what they call “community care.” American operatives say he has since been transferred to a secret ISI lock-up under the Pakistani euphemism: “institutional care.” According to several reports, all of this information was confirmed to U.S. officials by a senior Pakistani military officer “several weeks ago.”

Mediaite Has a detailed summary

The plot surrounding the possible capture of Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar continues to thicken. As with everything surrounding the elusive Al-Qaeda ally, no word is quite official, but Big Government, who broke the anonymously-sourced story of Omar’s capture earlier this week, is sticking to its report and has now published an independent confirmation by Lt. Col. Oliver North that Omar is in custody.

As the North update was posted less than an hour ago, no other news sources have been able to confirm or deny the second story, and it’s too early to tell to what extent it will get coverage. The Thor piece mostly made the rounds on right-leaning websites, and even there it was met with suspicion. This is the second story of the same vein this week, now with a big name behind it that confirms he was on the ground, and Big Government shows no signs of backing down from the story. That said, they are probably going to have to come up with a source that isn’t anonymous and some concrete evidence soon for the story to be picked up by the institutional media.

  • The ISI has known all along where Omar was hiding…if you can call it that. This is a game of “hide and seek,” and the Pakistani government pulls all the strings. Now that they have come out and declared themselves “nuclear proficient” I’m sure there will be a lot of sabre rattling. India will not play their game and any overt action by Pakistan will be answered by India in a way that will not be pretty. India has been waiting for the right time to exact their revenge for the atrocities committed against them. Mullah Omar has a lot of support in Pakistan and Afghanistan and don’t think for a minute that he will hesitate to use it. If….he is in custody in Pakistan I’m sure he will “escape” somehow. They will wake up some morning and poof…he’ll be gone. Know your enemy people…know your enemy.
