  • First, I would expect that the National Terror Alert would report on their weekly findings which are fact based, not an editorial trying to pass for unbiased news.
Second, the article is clearly written with a slant against those who want to prepare for themselves and their families. The author certainly does not agree with personal firearm ownership since the tone of the article is written with fear and ignorance.

  • Driven by fear? That’s true. I’ve never seen any time in the history of the United States when I felt so threatened by so many things. Pandemic flu, terrorist attacks, EMP threats, cyber attacks, earthquakes, floods, civil unrest, political unrest, economic collapse, food shortages, tornados, straight line winds, wildfires, hurricanes, and radical left communists and marxist sitting right in our White House. Any one of these things is enough to set your teeth on edge, but we’re having every one of them all at once. As ridiculous as it seems, I bought the book “How to Survive a Zombie Attack” because they are right, if you are prepared to fend off a zombie, you pretty much are prepared for anything.

  • This article in the Oregonian received almost 150 comments, the majority of comments were very negative towards the survivalists. There is nothing wrong with preparing for calamity. 99% of the population is completely unprepared – No stockpile of food, water or toiletries. I was actually inspired by this story, and think it is time to personally do an inventory of my families emergency readiness.
