  • It is good to see that CBRN Detection and Protection is getting such high visibility with the incoming Obama Administration. I hope the attention will be followed up with more personnel and more money to continue the progress already made.

    We should be amazed — except that this does involve politicians and the Byzantine politics of the White House.

    Say, I have an idea, how about we try to get ALL of the various agencies together on the same program?

    Nah, forget that, a marvel like that would mean politicians and bureaucrats actually cooperating with each other and not fighting their usual internecine turf wars.

    On a more happy note, why do you think that the Amateur Radio Service (“Hams”) always are prepared and perform so well during disasters? They practice, and then practice again. When was the last time YOUR agency simulated a disaster with a communications breakdown, strategic decapitation of management, and reliance on backup systems?

    I thought so.
