U.S. Had Early Signals of Terror Plot From Yemen

The New York Times is reporting that two officials said the government had intelligence from Yemen before Friday that leaders of a branch of Al Qaeda there were talking about “a Nigerian” being prepared for a terrorist attack.

While the information did not include a name, officials said it would have been evident had it been compared with information about Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old Nigerian charged with trying to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight to Detroit on Christmas Day.

  • I think one of the main problems is that there is a lack of communication between the different branches of our federal government.
    too many times it seems, the righ hand doesn’know what the left hand is doing.
    This reminds me of the ft hood killings,and it seems this just goes on and on.
    It is time for the Obama administration to spend just as much time on protecting this country from domestic attacts as we are with sending our troops thousands of miles away to fight the terrorists in foreign countries.
    It seems to me that Obama is handling domestic terrorism in the same manner that bush handled katrina.
