Just days after a failed car bomb attack on Times Square, a suspicious truck abandoned on the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge caused police to shut the span down for about three hours Wednesday night, cops said.
A bomb squad determined the truck was empty and not a threat.
The U-Haul truck with Arizona plates was spotted by alert bridge authorities abandoned about 100 yards from a toll plaza on the Bronx side heading to Manhattan at 9:40 p.m.
Witnesses saw a man with a white bag fleeing on foot towards Queens, cops said.

“There is no explosive device of any kind” said Browne. “Police are now trying to establish the identity of the driver.”
Traffic resumed shortly after midnight.
