Qasim al-Raimi, a top military commander for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, is threatening new terror attacks against the US and warned Americans that the group ”we will blow up the earth from below your feet.”
The statement goes on to say, ”You have attacked us in the midst of our household, so wait for what will attack you in the midst of yours”, according to a translation of the message from the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors militant Web sites.
The phrase, “‘we will blow up the earth from below your feet.” is an interesting choice of words. One can’t help but wonder if this is a signal to launch an attack, or a clue into the type of attack the terrorist group is planning.

A few thoughts on this:
Are they going to attack from our sewer/drainage systems? And were the 18 tons of stolen explosives recently found in Mexico “only part” of what they’re planning?
Is it a code phrase for a phase to begin?
Is the wording a diversion?
It is more of a common Arabic expression/threat…it just happens to translate a bit awkwardly. I have no idea if there is significance to it or not.
Shut them down! It can’t take too much to jam their broadcasts from space!

Interesting choice of words. I guess that we have to assume that it may be a code phrase. Trying to think of how can they blow up the earth from below our feet. Understanding that not all cargo is screened and loaded on planes under our feet? Maybe the expression has a meaning that they have operatives in all areas around the globe at the ready! I think that we all should look at our planning efforts, training, equipment and run exercises to ensure that we can mitigate lesson any such attack against us.
Why do we allow these known terrorists to constantly threaten us?
We are not allowed to threaten a police officer or any of our political leaders. Then why do we allow these people to constantly threaten us?
They are basically declaring war on us and we just sit and wait for them to do it!
Once they make a threat of violence against the American people, they should be considered a viable target!
Stop the “tit for tat” bullcrap and start protecting this country!
What is going on in America? Have we lost the ability to protect the American people?
The 9/11 “mastermind” killed thousands of Americans and 9 years later, we cannot decide where to give him a fair trial?
We have American troops all over the world and in two wars fighting terrorism and we cannot decide, whether or not to support them?
We have a “ten percent” unemployment rate and people cannot buy food or pay the electric or water bills, and congress has been working on Healthcare Reform for over a year? What good is healthcare, when you cannot heat your house, get a drink of water or turn on your lights at night?
My god.

These al Qaeda people are becoming very irritating!
Considering al Qaeda’s latest threat, “We Will Blow Up The Earth from Below Your Feet”, it might become necessary to monitor underground-street sewers with cameras and motion detectors. Historically most Wars end. I don’t see that happening with the War on Terrorism in my life time. Perhaps it might take a “major” world event to stop the proliferation of terrorists.

Yes Texan, that is pretty much how I read it, like a figure of speech. Of course, it could still have some significance to it, and we have to take precautions regardless…airing on the side of caution is the way to go here.
If that phrase had any significance, I agree with those who point to subways as the likely reference here. Al-Qaeda are seemingly obsessed with aircraft and subways, and we know they have targeted them in the past. That would also mean NYC is the likely target here. We already know the now confessed terrorist wannabe Zazi told law enforcement officials that he was meant to target the Manhattan subway system.
