The FBI is probing a hijack hoax that sent fighter jets scrambling to help land an Alaska Airlines flight bound for Seattle on Thursday night.
The FBI field office in Honolulu received a call Thursday claiming a man on Flight 819 from Kona was going to hijack the plane. A male passenger was identified by the caller.
That passenger was watched closely during the flight, KING-TV reported. He slept most of the way and an Alaska Airlines spokesperson said he exhibited no strange or threatening behavior.
