A man believed to be mentally ill and rambling about explosives led authorities to shut down ferry service between Point Defiance and the Tahlequah terminal on Vashon Island for more than five hours Saturday.
The service was halted around 11:15 a.m. after a witness overheard a 48-year old Vashon Island man talking about wanting to detonate an explosive after a car disembarked from the boat, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
