KRQE reports that the FBI in Albuquerque has confirmed that they are interviewing a man after he allegedly lit matches in the cabin of American Airlines flight 117 headed from JFK Airport in New York to LAX in Los Angeles, forcing an emergency landing. The man who police described as a foreigner, of middle east decent according to the report, ran to the bathroom after being questioned about the “burnt match” smell.
The FBI has said they have no reason to believe explosives were involved.
