Passengers aboard an American Eagle flight from Chicago took an unexpected detour Monday night when their plane was diverted from Reagan National to Dulles International Airport.

An American Airlines spokesman said they received suspicious information about a passenger on board Flight 4117 from Chicago. Airline officials said the passenger was not on any watch list, but was ruled a potential security risk. As a precaution, the TSA ordered the pilot to land at Dulles.

There were 45 passengers on board the flight — many were bused to Reagan National.

The plane was checked over and has been put back into service. It is unclear if any of the passengers were detained.
