Violence in the capital of China’s Xinjiang region leaves 140 people dead and scores injured after rioting by members of a Muslim ethnic group and a police crackdown.
Chinese state media says that 140 people have been killed and more than 800 hurt in violence in the country’s western Xinjiang region.
