Explosive device detonates at Social Security office in Casa Grande Arizona

Federal authorities continue to investigate an explosion that damaged an entrance of a Social Security Administration building in Casa Grande on Friday.

The explosion occurred about 8 a.m. at 501 N. Marshall Street in downtown, near Florence Boulevard and Pinal Avenue. Officials said someone placed improvised explosive device at the back door of the building, which was charred and blackened from the explosion.

The amount of damage has not been released. No injuries were reported.
