Plane forced to land after passengers hear loud bang and see flames coming from the engine

Terrified passengers on a Dubai-bound flight have spoken of their horror after a loud bang shook the plane and flames could be seen coming from the engine.

The Emirates Airbus A380 was forced to land less than an hour after take-off from Sydney after what the airline are describing as an ‘engine fault’.

Passengers described seeing two-metre long flames licking from the plane’s engine after the incident which happened when the aircraft was still climbing and had reached around 10,000 ft.
