Real-Time Security Cameras Go Online In NYC Subway Hubs

As many as 500 cameras have been placed in nearly every corner of three of the busiest transit hubs in New York City – in the stairwells and on the platform. All of them are keeping a close watch on who and what’s going in and out of our subways.

The network of 500 cameras will stream live real-time images to an NYPD command center. The main target of the cameras — fighting regular subway crime and repelling terrorist attacks.

  • That is not going to help repel terrorist who will blow themselves up anyway.

    Perhaps it will prevent crime of other sorts.
