As many as 500 cameras have been placed in nearly every corner of three of the busiest transit hubs in New York City – in the stairwells and on the platform. All of them are keeping a close watch on who and what’s going in and out of our subways.
The network of 500 cameras will stream live real-time images to an NYPD command center. The main target of the cameras — fighting regular subway crime and repelling terrorist attacks.
That is not going to help repel terrorist who will blow themselves up anyway.
Perhaps it will prevent crime of other sorts.
