Communist party-run propaganda outlet People’s Daily finally has an ally to support its thoroughly debunked claim that the Taliban is training monkeys for war against the U.S. and NATO. The newspaper last week “reported” that the Taliban had taught monkeys to use AK-47s against American troops, which the story claimed would also “arouse Western animal protectionists to pressure their governments to withdraw troops from Afghanistan.”
A NATO spokesperson responded, “We have absolutely nothing that leads us to believe that this tale could be even remotely based in reality.” Then how do you explain this video, NATO? Produced by Taiwanese news service NMA News, this digital imagining of the Taliban jihad monkeys should convince even the greatest skeptic:

The People’s Daily, a newspaper produced by China’s ruling communist party, has either been hilariously pranked or has out-reported every news outlet in Afghanistan to secure the scoop of the century. The outlet today reports that the Taliban in Afghanistan is “training monkeys to use weapons to attack American troops.” After 16 years of war and nine years of battling the U.S., the Islamist insurgents have decided to arm monkeys with “AK-47 rifles and Bren light machine guns in the Waziristan tribal region near the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.”

Oh WOW, are the Taliban even remotely aware of PETA and what they are capable of? But seriously, the tought that the extremists used innocent kids with backpacks to fight jihad, and no world organization like the United Nations hasn’t issued constant sanctions over child abuse has always appaled me. Check out the NY Post article “These Kids Goal In Life Is Death” on their archives. This article appeared a week or two before 911 ( Aug, 2001), , and forgotten. I don’t think it got as much media attention as this story.
And, yet, maybe PETA can get the job done and stop these terrorists!
