US officials say there is no specific terrorist threat to Sunday’s Super Bowl, but U.S. intelligence officials say al-Qaida and other similar terror groups and organizations remain interested in carrying out attacks during such high-profile events.
Tight security is likely to deter any attacks at the actual event however, other less secure targets, such as nearby hotels and restaurants, may become more appealing for determined terrorists.
